Jimmy Sprayberry
Girls JV Basketball Coach

Jimmy is a graduate from New Site High school where he played football and basketball.  After graduation he  started his coaching career at New Site where was the head coach for Junior Varsity boys in basketball and was the Junior High Football and assistant on the Varsity football team where he coached for a number of years.  In 1999, Jimmy became the Junior High boys and girls basketball coach at Mellow Valley High School and assistant coach to the  Varsity basketball teams.  In 2003, he  became the head coach at Mellow Valley Christian Academy where he coached the Varsity boys and girls with a lot of success.  Both Varsity boys and girls teams made it to the Final four two years in a roll. 

Jimmy and his wife Tammy have been married for 28 years and have 1 daughter named Trista.  Trista is in the 7th grade at CCCA.  Jimmy retired from coaching just after Trista was born to be at home more with her.  Once she started to school and deciding to follow in her dads footsteps becoming interested in sports; Jimmy got back into coaching at CCCA by assistant coaching the Varsity girls and Junior Varsity boys and head coaching the JV girls.

Jimmy is a full time employee at Southern Union State Community College.  He is an active member and Deacon at Mt. Gilead Community Church.  He loves to spend time with family and friends. , fish, travel, and watch Alabama football! 

Jimmy feels God has blessed him over and beyond with the privilege to coach such amazing young men and women throughout his years of coaching and he gives God the Glory for all accomplishments through his career.  His mission is to leave each one with a message that with God all things are possible not just in sports but also in life.

His favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
